Widespread Verizon Outage Leaves Users Unable to Connect

LUBBOCK, TX — A widespread outage has impacted hundreds of thousands of Verizon users across the country, as reported by Downdetector.

While several cellphone and internet providers are working to restore services following Hurricane Helene's impact on the Southeast, Verizon users, including those outside the storm zone, have reported significant issues, rendering their phones inoperable and internet access unavailable.

User complaints surged on Downdetector, with problems also reported for AT&T and T-Mobile. However, Verizon experienced the most significant disruption, surpassing 100,000 outage reports by 11 a.m. ET.

Many frustrated customers took to the website to express their concerns, noting they were stuck in SOS mode, while others had signal bars but could not utilize any services.

Verizon has acknowledged the outage and is actively working to restore services, although no specific timeline has been provided.
