Isolated Showers Brings Sunny Week Ahead

 

LUBBOCK, TX — Today’s weather forecast indicates a possibility of isolated showers and thunderstorms in the far southern Texas Panhandle and northern regions of the South Plains. Rain chances are expected to shift from west to east throughout the morning and into the afternoon.

The Lubbock area can anticipate a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m. The day will start partly sunny before gradually becoming sunny, with a high temperature reaching around 84° F. Breezy southwest winds will be at around 15 mph.

As the sun sets, conditions will remain mostly clear, with an overnight low of about 55° F and southwest winds from 5 to 10 mph.

Looking ahead to Tuesday, the weather is expected to be sunny with a high near 87° F and light west winds at 5 to 10 mph. Tuesday night will see mostly clear skies and a low of around 52° F.

Wednesday promises more sunshine with a high near 88° F. Winds will shift to the south-southwest at 5 to 10 mph, and temperatures will dip to about 57° F overnight under mostly clear skies.

Sunny skies and pleasant temperatures are expected throughout this weekend in Lubbock. On Friday, expect a high near 82° F with a west wind shifting to the east in the afternoon and a low of around 51° F at night. Saturday will be slightly cooler, with a high near 79° F and mostly clear conditions. Saturday night will see temperatures drop to about 52° F. Sunday will warm up again, reaching a high near 84° F under sunny skies.
