LUBBOCK, TX — A local KLBK weather reporter was arrested on Monday, November 25.
Kathryn Campbell, 23, was arrested on charges of assault causing bodily injury to a family member following a domestic disturbance in the 11500 block of Savannah Avenue.
According to court documents, Lubbock Police responded to the call on November 25, where the victim, identified as Campbell's father, reported being struck in the face multiple times, resulting in pain and visible injuries. Officers at the scene observed the injuries to be in line with the victim's account.
Court records state both Campbell and the victim live at the same address, and the victim told authorities that the violence had been an ongoing issue. Given the circumstances and concerns for the continued safety of those involved, Lubbock police arrested Campbell for assault.

She was transported and booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center. As of November 26, Campbell has been released from custody on an unspecified bond amount. She was accused of Assault Domestic Violence. In the state of Texas, this kind of charge usually carries a Class A misdemeanor charge where she faces up to a $4,000 fine and up to one year in prison or jail.
According to her online biography on KLBK's website EverythingLubbock, Campbell is from Lovington, New Mexico. She briefly hosted entertainment shows including the X-Games and the American Music Awards in Hollywood. She was also a model in the Los Angeles area before heading back to Lubbock. Her LinkedIn states that she has a journalism degree from Texas Tech. She reported that she was the weather forecaster from January 2023 until June 2024. She has been with KLBK for about two years. In her bio, it states that, "Kathryn believes that faith and family are the most important things in life."
South Plains LIVE! reached out to KLBK for a comment but was told the news director was in a meeting at the time.
