LUBBOCK, TX — A crash on Saturday night in Lubbock County left one person from New Home dead and two others injured.

According to DPS, the accident happened around 9:35 p.m. on January 4, at the intersection of County Road 7150 and US Highway 87, and involved a 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche and a 2017 Dodge Durango.

The driver of the Chevrolet Avalanche, Fabian Vitolas, 36, from New Home, Texas, was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, Christopher Dunn, 22, from Carlsbad, New Mexico, was wearing his seatbelt and suffered serious injuries. He was taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock for treatment.
