Plane Crashes in Plainview, No Injuries Reported

 

PLAINVIEW, TX — A plane crashed Thursday night, January 16, after experiencing a mechanical failure while attempting to land at the Plainview Municipal Airport.

The Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene around 7:00 p.m. after reports that a Beechcraft Bonanza was having trouble during its landing.

According to a release from DPS, the mechanical issue occurred during the plane's descent, and the pilot attempted an emergency landing. 

The plane crashed and stopped at the intersection of Southwest 3rd Street and Columbia Street in Plainview.

The pilot, Gary Garrison, 73, from Bridgeport, Texas, and his passenger, Mark Garrison, 30, from Plainview, Texas, were not injured in the crash.

The FAA has taken over the investigation into the incident.
