LUBBOCK, TX — The weather this week will be warm and sunny, with temperatures slightly above normal for the South Plains.
According to the National Weather Service, today will kick off a stretch of pleasant weather. However, a small cold front will bring cooler temperatures and breezy conditions by mid-week. The weather will stay mild during the weekend, with a slight chance of showers on Saturday and Sunday.
Today will be sunny, with temperatures climbing to near 80°. Westerly winds at 10 to 15 mph will keep things dry and warm. Tonight, clear skies and light winds will bring temperatures down to the mid-30s to low 40s.

Tuesday will stay sunny, with highs reaching around 78°. Winds will be light, shifting from the north-northwest in the morning to the south-southeast in the afternoon. Expect mostly clear skies again Tuesday night, with temperatures dropping to about 43°. Winds will stay light, shifting from the south-southwest to the west-northwest after midnight.
On Wednesday, the weather will be cooler, with a high temperature near 64° under mostly sunny skies. Winds will be breezy, with northwest winds at 10 to 15 mph, picking up to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Gusts could reach 35 mph. Wednesday night will bring partly cloudy skies and lows around 35°, with northeast winds at 5 to 15 mph.
By the weekend, temperatures will cool slightly but stay mild. Friday will be sunny, with a high near 70° and southwest winds at 10 to 15 mph. Friday night will be mostly clear, with lows around 38°. Saturday will be mostly sunny, with highs near 70°. There is a 20% chance of showers Saturday night, with lows around 42°. Sunday will see another 20% chance of showers, with mostly sunny skies and highs near 67 degrees.
