Snyder Teen Ejected in Fatal Crash

 

SNYDER, TX — A teenager from Snyder was killed in a crash early Thursday morning in Scurry County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Norberto Cardona Cruz, 19, was driving a 1995 Ford F-150 pickup truck on Brick Plant Road, just north of State Highway 208, when he lost control of his truck.

The crash happened around 3:43 a.m. when the truck spun off the road and hit a telephone pole. Cruz was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. According to DPS, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Weather conditions were clear and dry, and the posted speed limit on Brick Plant Road is 45 mph.

The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
