‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Phil Robertson Dies at 79

WEST MONROE, LA — The bearded patriarch of the Robertson family and star of the popular reality TV series Duck Dynasty, Phil Robertson, has died at 79, his family confirmed on Sunday, May 25.

His son, Jase Robertson, announced the news in a post on X and was confirmed on Robertson’s Facebook page.

Robertson rose to fame as the founder of Duck Commander, a duck call company that became the foundation for Duck Dynasty. The show aired on A&E from 2012 to 2017 and followed the lives of the Robertson family as they ran their Louisiana-based business and leaned heavily on their faith and family values. It became one of the most popular reality series of all time.

The family shared that Robertson had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, a condition they made public last December.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete, and Robertson’s family has not released additional details about his death but thanked fans for their prayers and support over the years.
