Frenship and Coronado HS Evacuated After Bomb Threats

LUBBOCK, TX – Officials from the Lubbock and Frenship Independent School Districts reported that law enforcement determined there was "no immediate danger" following bomb threats at Coronado High School and Frenship High School on Monday, September 9, 2024.

“We understand this news may cause concern, but please rest assured that all safety protocols are being followed,” Lubbock ISD stated in a letter sent to families.

As a precaution, students and staff at both Frenship High School and Coronado High School were evacuated to safety. 

Frenship ISD clarified that the Ninth Grade Center was not affected by the threat.

“We ask that you please refrain from coming to the school or the evacuation site to allow authorities to manage the situation effectively,” Lubbock ISD said. “We will continue to provide updates as they become available and notify you as soon as it is safe to resume normal activities.”
