Lubbock PD Identifies Victims of Mackenzie Park Shooting

 

LUBBOCK, TX – Lubbock Police responded to reports of gunfire in the Mackenzie Park area on Tuesday morning, September 10, 2024.

The Lubbock Police Department has identified the victims of the Mackenzie Park shooting as 55-year-old Angel Aleman and 47-year-old Lydia Hernandez.

LPD reported that officers responded to shots fired in the 300 block of Cesar E. Chavez Drive around 8:18 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10. Authorities described the incident as isolated.

When police arrived, they found Aleman on the ground, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Hernandez was discovered with severe injuries and was transported to University Medical Center by EMS, where she died shortly after arriving.

A dog belonging to Aleman was also found dead at the scene, according to the statement.

No arrests have been made.
