DPS Trooper Airlifted to Lubbock Hospital After Being Struck on Highway

 

ECTOR COUNTY, TX – On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, the Texas Department of Public Safety reported that a Trooper was airlifted to a hospital in the Lubbock area following a serious incident on State Highway 246 in Ector County.

According to DPS, the Trooper was outside his vehicle investigating a crash around 9:00 a.m. when he was struck by another vehicle. 

The Trooper sustained serious injuries and was initially taken to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. From there, he was airlifted to a hospital in Lubbock for further treatment.

DPS officials stated that the Trooper is currently in serious but stable condition. 

The incident is under investigation and updates are to come as more information is provided.
