Hobbs Schools Lift Lockdown After Juvenile Arrested for Threats

 

HOBBS, NM – On Tuesday, October 29, at approximately 10:40 a.m., the Hobbs Police Department received an anonymous phone call containing threats directed at Hobbs Municipal Schools.

According to a Facebook post, School Resource Officers immediately initiated a lockdown, placing the school in a SECURE status.

Officers responded to Hobbs Alternative School, where they successfully located the source of the threatening calls. Hobbs Police says a juvenile with the phone was arrested at the scene.

The Hobbs Police Department has confirmed that there are no further threats to the schools. 

All safety protocols have been lifted, and regular school operations have resumed.
