Levelland Man Found Fatally Shot in Street, Police Say

 

LEVELLAND, TX — The Levelland Police Department is investigating the death of Gregorio Nathaniel Mendieta, 27, after being found on October 20 with a fatal gunshot wound.

According to a press release issued by the department on November 6, Mendieta was discovered unresponsive in the 1700 block of Wilson Street.

Initial reports say Mendieta was speaking with someone inside a pickup truck before the shooting. Investigators are seeking information to help identify the person in the vehicle. The motive of the shooter is not clear.
