Lubbock Police Identify Man Fatally Shot at Sports Bar

 

LUBBOCK, TX — The Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Friday morning at CC’s Sports Grill & Bar in central Lubbock.

According to a press release, Lubbock Police responded to a report of shots fired at approximately 1:29 a.m. Upon arrival, officers located Nick Rodela-Garcia, 28, suffering from serious gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Lubbock Police states the shooting followed a verbal altercation between Rodela-Garcia and another person at the bar. The argument reportedly escalated into a physical confrontation, and the suspect allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot Rodela-Garcia.

The Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit is leading the investigation, and authorities are working to gather more information. No arrests have been made, and the suspect's identity has not been released.

The investigation is ongoing, and Lubbock Police have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
