LUBBOCK, TX — A two-day operation targeting gang-related crime in Lubbock has ended in the arrests of 12 people and the seizure of firearms, drugs, and stolen identification documents.
The Lubbock Anti-Gang Center conducted the operation on January 28 and January 30, 2025, and focused on criminal activity at two motels. One located at the 1600 block of 38th Street and another located at the 3100 block of Clovis Road, according to a release from a TAG.
During the operation, TAG officers executed multiple search warrants, which led to foot and vehicle pursuits.
Authorities recovered five firearms, around 100 stolen IDs, and a variety of illegal drugs, including marijuana, methamphetamine, cocaine, and suspected fentanyl.
The arrests include members of the West Texas Tango Blast, Texas Syndicate, and Bloods gangs.
The 12 individuals below face a range of charges, including drug possession, firearms offenses, and tampering with identification numbers:
Ricardo Aguilar, 43: Unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, theft of a firearm, possession of controlled substances (meth, cocaine, fentanyl), tampering with identification numbers, possession of marijuana.
Marcos Pena, 35: Theft of a firearm, possession of controlled substances (meth, cocaine), tampering with identification numbers, possession of marijuana.
Joshua Farmer, 44: Theft of a firearm, possession of controlled substances (meth, cocaine), tampering with identification numbers, possession of marijuana, and misdemeanor warrants.
Maleek Murray, 26: Possession of marijuana, misdemeanor warrants.
Paul Frazier, 38: Possession of a controlled substance (meth), prohibited substance in a correctional facility, and misdemeanor warrants.
Jose Montez, 43: Possession of a controlled substance (meth).
Juan Jose Betancourt-Soto, 21: Immigration and Customs Enforcement violations.
Leonella Guzman, 37: Unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, tampering with evidence, tampering with identification numbers.
Frankie Lira-Reyes, 31: Evading arrest in a motor vehicle, evading arrest on foot, possession of a controlled substance (meth), tampering with evidence.
Francisco De La Cruz, 46: Two counts of possession of a controlled substance (meth) and possession of dangerous drugs.
Emilia Hernandez, 48: Two counts of possession of a controlled substance (meth) and possession of dangerous drugs.
David Deleon, 39: Evading arrest in a motor vehicle.
