LUBBOCK, TX — Lubbock Independent School District has canceled classes and all school-related activities for Tuesday, Jan. 27, citing continued extremely cold morning temperatures and potentially hazardous driving conditions.
All schools and administrative offices will be closed, and district employees will observe a planning day while working from home.
District officials said families and staff should continue monitoring email and text messages for weather-related updates, including the possibility of a delayed start on Wednesday, Jan. 28. Additional information regarding potential snow day makeups later in the semester will be announced.
The district will also repeat curbside meal pickups for families on Tuesday. From 10 to 11 a.m., Aramark, the district’s student nutrition partner, will provide meals at the following locations. Students do not need to be present, but individuals picking up meals should be prepared to provide the student’s home campus information:

Officials reminded families and staff that official district communication regarding weather-related closures, delays or early dismissals will be sent via email and text. Updates will also be posted on the district’s website at www.lubbockisd.org and on its official Facebook and Instagram pages.
LUBBOCK-COOPER ISD
Lubbock-Cooper ISD has also announced that there will be no classes on Tuesday, Jan. 26.
FRENSHIP ISD
Frenship ISD announced on Monday afternoon that there will be no classes on Tuesday, Jan. 26.
