Texas Tech University System Regents to Meet May 8

 

LUBBOCK, TX — The Texas Tech University System Board of Regents will meet Thursday, May 8, in Lubbock to discuss key academic, financial, and operational matters across its five universities.

The meeting will take place in the Regents Conference Room (104A) on the first floor of the TTU System Building at 1508 Knoxville Ave. A livestream and meeting materials will be available online. Media parking is available in the C-16 Commuter West lot near Knoxville Avenue and Texas Tech Parkway.

The day begins at 8:25 a.m. with a ceremonial swearing-in of newly appointed and reappointed regents. At 8:30 a.m., the board will convene as a Committee of the Whole to address several items, including:

  • Introductions and recognitions

  • An update on Angelo State University’s “Leading the Charge” capital campaign

  • Approval of meeting minutes and consent agendas

  • Review and approval of the 2025 and 2026 regents’ meeting schedules

Committee meetings will begin at 9:10 a.m., including:

  • Finance and Investments

  • Academic, Clinical and Student Affairs

  • Audit

  • Facilities

The board will enter executive session at approximately 10:25 a.m., with a return to open session scheduled for 4 p.m. for any motions and announcements. The meeting is expected to adjourn at 4:05 p.m.
