LUBBOCK, TX – The Mega Millions jackpot has soared to an estimated $681 million as of Tuesday, September 3rd with the cash option at about $336.1 million after no one claimed to be a winner in the previous drawing.
The prize pool increased after no winners matched all six numbers in Friday night’s drawing, on August 30.
The winning numbers were 10, 17, 20, 24, and 54, and the Mega Ball was 8. The Megaplier for the drawing was 4x.
In Texas, no one won the jackpot or the second-tier prize of $1 million, although there were other big winners. Four tickets matched four of the five white balls and the Mega Ball, earning $10,000 each. One winner had a Megaply, and their winnings jumped to $40,000.
Additionally, 110 Texas players who matched four of the five white balls without the Mega Ball received $500 each, with 56 of these winners Megaplying their winnings to $2,000. In total, 123,116 winning tickets were sold in Texas for this drawing.
The next Mega Millions drawing is tonight and will be the seventh-largest jackpot in the game's history if there is a winner.
