O'Donnell Resident Wins $1M Mega Millions Prize

O'DONNELL, TX — An O'Donnell resident has claimed a $1 million prize from the Mega Millions drawing on September 6.

The second-tier prize-winning ticket was purchased at Stripes Store #42417H, located at 1912 N. Dallas Ave. in Lamesa. The winner, who has opted to remain anonymous, matched all five white ball numbers drawn but did not match the Mega Ball.

The winning numbers were 6-23-41-59-63, and the Mega Ball was 25. To win the Mega Millions jackpot, players must match all six numbers, including the Mega Ball. While the jackpot was not won, the second-tier prize provides a substantial payout of $1 million for those who match the five white balls.

Mega Millions is played by selecting five numbers from a pool of 70 and one Mega Ball number from a separate pool of 25. The starting jackpot for Mega Millions is $20 million, with the second-tier prize offering $1 million for matching five white ball numbers. Players can also opt for the Megaplier feature, which allows them to multiply non-jackpot winnings by up to five times, potentially winning as much as $5 million.

Drawings for Mega Millions are held every Tuesday and Friday at 10:12 p.m. CT.
