Ropes ISD Closed After Teacher Passes Away

 

ROPESVILLE, TX — Ropes Independent School District announced it will be closed on Monday, November 11, following the unexpected passing of a teacher.

In a statement released by the district, Ropes ISD emphasized that the closure will allow students, staff, and the community time to grieve the passing of Mrs. Ronda Ryals. 

"It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Mrs. Ronda Ryals, a valued member of our staff. In light of this loss, the district will be closed on Monday, November 11th, to allow the entire Ropes ISD community time to grieve and prepare for the days ahead."

The district also announced that the school will be open, and counselors will be available to support students and staff seeking assistance or mourning.

"Mrs. Ryals was an Eagle through and through," the district’s message concluded. "She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Our thoughts are with Mrs. Ryals' family, friends, and everyone who knew her."

Classes will resume on Tuesday, November 12.
