LEVELLAND, TX—The Clovis Horse Sale returns to the Mallet Event Center and Arena in Levelland this Friday and Saturday. The two-day event will feature equine competitions, a live horse sale, and a vendor market, all free and open to the public.
The event kicks off on Friday at 10:00 a.m. with the Futurity Competition, which will feature three-year-old horses in cowhorse events, including reining, cow work, and steer stopping. According to a press release, a total purse of $29,000 will be awarded for the futurity, and $9,000 will be given for team roping.
On Saturday, the horse sale will begin at 9:00 a.m., with 250 consigned horses available for viewing and bidding. Over 30 vendors will also be at the Mallet Event Center for the Home for the Holidays vendor show, which runs both Friday and Saturday.
The release stated that food would be available at the event, with Smokin’ D’s serving lunch on Friday and Jeanna’s Feedbag on Saturday. The event will wrap up on Sunday with a morning church service at 8:30 a.m. in the Mallet Event Center lobby.
