Levelland Firefighters Contain Blaze After Backyard Fire Spreads

 

LEVELLAND, TX – The Levelland Fire Department responded to reports of a backyard fire on Tuesday morning at around 1:38 a.m. When crews arrived, they quickly learned that the fire had spread to a nearby structure.

As of 7:30 a.m., firefighters were actively tackling the blaze at a small, two-story apartment building. 

The fire remains contained, but crews are working to fully extinguish the flames and make sure the area is safe.

Several neighboring volunteer fire departments, including Sundown VFD, Whiteface VFD, Morton VFD, and West Carlisle VFD, helped extinguish the fire.

According to a release from the Levelland Fire Department, the cause of the fire is still under investigation. The release did not specify where the fire was located in the city. Luckily, no injuries have been reported.

Firefighters continue to work at the scene, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
