Texas Mega Millions Player Strikes $2M Prize

ARLINGTON, TX — A lucky resident of Grand Prairie claimed a $2 million Mega Millions prize from the January 24 drawing.

The winning ticket included the Megaplier option and was bought at Ballpark Beverage, 2100 E. Lamar Blvd., in Arlington, TX.

According to a press release, the winner chose to stay anonymous and matched all five white ball numbers (8-12-43-52-62) but missed the Mega Ball number (18).

However, by selecting the Megaplier feature, the second-tier prize doubled to $2 million.

Mega Millions is played by picking five numbers from a set of 70 and one Mega Ball from a set of 25. Players must match all six numbers, including the Mega Ball, to win the jackpot.

By adding the Megaplier option for $1 more, players can multiply their prize by 2, 3, 4, or even 5 times, possibly winning up to $5 million.

Mega Millions drawings happen every Tuesday and Friday at 10:12 p.m. CT, with the current jackpot sitting at $20 million.
