Lubbock Gas Prices Inch Up Amid Statewide Rise

LUBBOCK, TX – Gas prices in Texas have increased this week, with the statewide average for regular unleaded fuel rising to $2.87 per gallon.

According to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch, this marks an 11-cent increase from last week, but prices are still 28 cents lower than last year.

Among the major metropolitan areas in Texas, drivers in the El Paso area pay the highest average price, $3.11 per gallon, while those in McAllen pay the lowest, an average of $2.66 per gallon. Lubbock’s average price per gallon currently sits at $2.67.

Nationally, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is $3.26, an 11-cent increase from last week but 29 cents lower than the national average this time last year.

The recent price hike is due to several factors, including refinery maintenance and the switch to summer-blend gasoline.
