LUBBOCK, TX – Two men are now in custody in connection with the tragic murder of Angel Aleman, 55, and Lydia Hernandez, 47, following a comprehensive investigation.
According to a press release, The Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit, collaborating with the Texas Anti-Gang Center and the Forensic Investigations Unit, executed arrest warrants for 26-year-old Justin Aleman and 23-year-old Joziah Aleman on Friday, September 13th, around 7:00 p.m.
The Aleman brothers were already detained at the Lubbock County Detention Center on unrelated charges when they were served with new warrants, said the release.
These warrants include charges for two counts of murder and one count of cruelty to non-livestock animals. Both Justin and Joziah Aleman are currently held on a $400,000 bond each.
The incident unfolded earlier in the week. Lubbock Police initially responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 8:18 a.m. on September 10th in the 300 block of Cesar E. Chavez Drive.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Angel Aleman deceased at the scene. Lydia Hernandez, who was found with serious injuries, was rushed to UMC by EMS but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Additionally, a dog named "Monster," who belonged to Angel Aleman, was found dead at the scene.
