FRANKLIN, TN — Jay Cutler, the former Chicago Bears quarterback, was arrested Thursday, October 17, in Franklin, Tennessee, for allegedly driving under the influence.
Along with the DUI charge, reports state Cutler faces additional charges of possession of a handgun while under the influence, failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision, and violation of implied consent laws.
Cutler, 41, was stopped by local police and subsequently booked into the Williamson County Jail.
According to a representative from the Franklin Police Department, he posted a $5,000 bond and was released later that night.
The former NFL star, known for his time with the Bears and a brief stint with the Miami Dolphins, has been in the public eye following his divorce from reality TV star Kristin Cavallari. The couple, who married in 2013, announced their split in 2020, finalizing their divorce two years later. They share three children: Camden, 11, Jaxon, 9, and Saylor, 8. Cutler is currently in a relationship with Samantha Robertson.
Drafted 11th overall by the Denver Broncos in 2006, Cutler played a total of 12 seasons in the NFL, with a Pro Bowl appearance in 2008. He ended his playing career with a record of 52-52 during his eight seasons with the Bears.
In addition to his football career, Cutler has hosted the “Uncut with Jay Cutler” podcast and, after retiring in 2017, took on a broadcasting role with Fox Sports.
