AUSTIN, TX – A high-risk sex offender is the Texas Department of Public Safety's Featured Fugitive for February. A $4,000 reward is being offered for any information that leads to his arrest.
Michael Evan Scott, 40, from Irving, has been wanted by authorities since January 2024 for failing to comply with sex offender registration rules and violating his probation in Dallas County. He’s also wanted in Tarrant County for similar charges dating back to April 2024.
Scott’s criminal record includes a 2005 conviction for three counts of aggravated robbery, resulting in a 7-year prison sentence for each charge. In 2016, he was convicted of three counts of indecency with a child by exposure and sentenced to four years for each offense. Most recently, in 2022, Scott was convicted again for indecency with a child by exposure and sentenced to probation.
He is 6 feet tall and weighs about 145 pounds. He has tattoos on his chest, back, and both arms.
The hunt for Scott is part of the ongoing Texas Crime Stoppers program, which tracks down the state’s most wanted fugitives, including sex offenders and criminal illegal immigrants. Funded by the Governor’s Public Safety Office, the program has already helped make 6 arrests in 2025, with $10,000 in reward money given out.
Anyone with information can contact Texas Crime Stoppers at 1-800-252-TIPS or submit a tip online. Tips can be anonymous, and rewards are available for information leading to an arrest.
