LUBBOCK, TX — A student from Texas Tech was arrested after allegedly assaulting his roommate with a metal computer stand during an argument over stolen items.
According to court documents, at around 1:44 p.m., Lubbock Police were called to the Texas Tech Student Wellness Center, where a man was seeking medical care for injuries after getting into a fight.
The victim told officers that he confronted Jimin Lee, 18, about some of his belongings that went missing, which led to a heated argument between the two.
According to the victim, Lee got in his face and started yelling after the accusation, causing him to push Lee away. Lee lost his balance, and when he recovered, he attacked the victim out of anger and scratched his face and chest, leaving multiple cuts and bleeding wounds.
After the scuffle, the two separated and started cleaning their room, but tensions flared up again. The victim said Lee then struck him in the face with a metal computer stand, causing a deep cut that required stitches, which is why he sought medical attention.
During the investigation, police noticed blood on the computer stand, which led them to believe it was used as a weapon. Documents stated that Lee admitted to being involved in the altercation.
Lee was arrested on charges of Aggravated Assault and Domestic Violence. He was taken to the Lubbock County Detention Center and released on February 19 after posting bail, though the bond amount was not listed.
