DPS Captain Arrested for Indecent Contact with a Child

 

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Department of Public Safety said Lubbock DPS Captain Gary McMillian was arrested on Thursday following an investigation by Texas Rangers.

He is charged with two counts of indecency with a child sexual contact. McMillian was taken into custody at his home, according to DPS. He was suspended by DPS the same day.

He is currently being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.

McMillian started with DPS in 2003.

DPS said McMillian was suspended on Thursday following his arrest by the Texas Rangers.

McMillian started with DPS in 2003 and was stationed in Lubbock, the agency said.

As of Thursday evening, McMillian remained at the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $50,000 "suggested" bond. However, he has a hold for another agency, according to jail records. Texas Rangers are listed as the arresting agency. We did not find arresting records on the federal docket as of Thursday night.
