Texas Deputy Wrangles Loose Kangaroo in Red Jacket

FAYETTE COUNTY, TX — A Fayette County deputy received an unusual call on Thursday, Feb. 27, when a kangaroo named Jack was spotted hopping around wearing a red jacket.

The marsupial was seen near Farek Loth Road and Farm to Market 609, about 3 miles away from Flatonia, Texas.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office took to social media with a lighthearted post, asking, "Is your kangaroo missing?" and adding, "Yes, we are serious... we couldn’t make this up if we wanted to."

The post was later updated to report that the kangaroo's owner had found the wandering marsupial and safely returned it home.

Fayette County authorities thanked the community for their help and shares that helped track down Jack’s owner.
