The National Weather Service reported showers and thunderstorms in southern sections of the South Plains and Rolling Plains today with some possible locally heavy rainfall.
The National Weather Service has forecasted isolated thunderstorms will be possible across the western South Plains and far southwestern Texas Panhandle through the remainder of the morning. Severe weather is not expected with this morning's round of storms.
The broiling heatwave continues on Thursday throughout Lubbock County. The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory that will remain in effect until after 8 p.m. CST.
